Whiteout locks your students in a mountain hut with a storm thirty minutes away. Five rooms stand between them and the valley – and every door is a language puzzle. Run it as a race between teams on separate devices, or solve it together on the projector.
What is inside
- 5 rooms, 5 codes: a vocabulary vault, grammar gap-fills whose first letters spell the code word, a logbook reading, an idiom match, and a final irregular-verb cipher
- 30:00 countdown with 3 team hints – each hint costs 2 minutes of clock time
- Hidden teacher panel – pause the clock, skip a stuck room, or open the full answer key mid-game
- Victory debrief recaps every word, structure, and idiom; escape times are logged for a class leaderboard
- Around 30-40 minutes of class time, best for teams of 3-5
How it works
You get a ZIP with a single HTML file. Double-click it, click fullscreen, connect your projector – or send it to one device per team – and play. It works offline, on any computer, forever. All five rooms live in one editable block at the top of the file, so you can change any word, sentence, or door code in a plain text editor.
License: single-teacher license – use it with all your classes, for as long as you teach.
